Frequently asked questions
  • What are the benefits of GlóMotion?
Physically, the practice increases mobility, flexibility and strength to allow openness of the body and the mind. One can expect to become agile, fluid and energetic; this translates as more courage and the ability to metabolize life's experiences. Mentally, emotionally and spiritually one can expect to be transformed with an increase in clarity, balance and harmony. The exercises can be done by individuals of any age group and have helped with chronic back, knee and shoulder pain to relieve the strains and suppressed tensions of physical and emotional trauma to joints and muscles.
  • GlóMotion exercises are quite unique, is the system related to Yoga?
GlóMotion in a way distills Yoga, making it simpler and more direct. We say it is based on Yoga principles because it is based on the practice of awareness, synchronicity, coordination and breathing and it’s a mindful, unified process.
  • Is there any cardiovascular benefit with GlóMotion?
Being a self-powered mechanism, the product requires the user to be actively engaged, present and apply energy thereby providing cardiovascular benefit. GlóMotion encourages conscious breathing, by inducing movement and breath you increase the body’s ability to process and metabolize energy and therefore your muscles become more energy efficient.  As you progressively challenge yourself with more repetitions, added resistance and less breaks, the benefits increase proportionately.
  • I see a similarity to Pilates exercises, how is GlóMotion different?
GlóMotion is a unifying process where mind, body, emotions and spirit are yoked together in order to promote the whole. In the practice of GlóMotion, leg and hip muscles are relaxed and used as dead weight to allow access to the abdominal area. This action is counterbalanced by the movement of the arms until the abdomen becomes the source of strength and mobility. Pilates is a mechanical system that that only addresses the physical body, not the mind, emotions and spirit.
  • How often can I do the Ropes or the other GlóMotion exercises?
Every day, every other day, or whenever you choose. A commitment to action is the only requirement.
  • How many repetitions is enough?
Start by doing 20 repetitions of each of the exercises. If you don't become sore or fatigued, or when you feel up to it, increase your repetitions by five or ten until you reach 40 repetitions. Do as many repetitions as you feel up to, based on how you feel and what you want to accomplish. challenge yourself, be compassionate and sensitive to your mind and body. Nurture and care for yourself. Don't punish or judge yourself.
  • How fast should I do the Ropes?
Doing the Ropes slowly with awareness and precision is preferred. The slower you do the Ropes the more beneficial. Remembering to breath consciously and  abundantly with every motion increases the benefits.  You will find that doing the Ropes will be different every time, based on your attitude, and how you feel physically and emotionally. Be true to how you feel and determine your pace accordingly. Doing them slowly increases the resistance and intensity because gravity is a factor. Doing the Ropes quickly is fine, as long as you  are present and aware. If your mind is elsewhere, then you are exercising separation instead of unification.
